First think about you want the ball to react. Then lift the club by COCKING the left hand along the plane until you feel it is enough BACKSWING to do what in intended the ball do. Then hit the ball the way you felt it should be hit to accomplish what you want the ball to do. Usually, the end of the BACKSWING is when the hip muscles constructs and felt.
Remember the Hogan driver video. His turn is just a one/two count. Up/down, turn/unturn, swish/swash. Count one is the upswing, two is the downswing. So we can say it is a one-two swing.
